Sarah is a qualified chef with Michelin star experience.  She gives personal hands on cookery tuition, and demonstrations for groups in a homely kitchen with garden views.  Whatever type of event you book, they are friendly, fun and personal to you so the topics and date(s) are arranged to suit you reflecting your interests and experience.  You need to call to see if the date you are thinking of is free and chat about what you would like to do.   Particularly popular is beginner bread making, and also available are quick one topic subjects about 1 hour £50, eg a no lump white sauce, bake a victoria sponge, and there’s beginner knife skills about 2 hours £80 – see bottom of page.                                 Tel: 01428 606073

 

Bread Making Hands-on Lesson for upto 4 people with homemade refreshments on arrival, plus a light lunch, £200 for 1 or 2, £270 for 3, £340 for 4.  A demonstration can be arranged for a larger group and a price agreed at the time of booking.  All ingredients & all equipment are provided.  You take home everything you make.  All lessons include

Basic White Bread, Pizza, Bread Rolls            You can add 2 of the following

Focaccia, Bagels, Naan, Quick Brioche, Spelt Loaf, Walnut Bread, Lighter Wholemeal, Crusty Italian, Bread for Entertaining, Stollen, Challah, Doughnuts, Hot Cross Buns, Chelsea Buns, Devonshire Splits, Pittas, Onion & Herb Bread, Pepper Bread, Rosemary & Raisin Bread

 

Cookery Class with homemade refreshments on arrival.  You take home everything you make.  Many are designed around taking home a full meal, though you can concentrate on a particular topic.  Prices are £200 for 1 or 2, £270 for 3.  Where there is a * extra will be charged to cover the highlighted ingredient.  You can decide your own menu, but here are some ideas …

Please note that some of the dishes are seasonal and would not be available all year.

 

Wine Tastings great as an ice breaker to start off your event or have blind tastings that accompany your menu, from aperitif to through cheeses and desserts.  The wine can also be themed for you to find out more about a specific area from beginner wine tasting to, for example, a single country or grape focus, new world versus old world, know your Bordeaux, know your Rioja from your Rhône, to specific producer wines.  Prices’ agreed at booking and vary according to the length of the event and the type and amount of wine required.

Demo & Dine, for groups of up to a dozen, are friendly, fun, informal and professional and make a coffee morning/lunch with a little bit different.  Easy-to-follow take home recipes so you can make the dishes at home for family and friends after seeing and eating them.  Prices agreed at time of booking, dependent on numbers and menu. 

 

Personal tuition is for 1 to 3 people can be arranged where you can decide the menu.

 

Beginner Knife Skills & Other One Topic Short Courses come along for an hour to learn a short single topic, eg jelly, easy cheesecake, pastry  or for about 2 hours learn basic knife skills.

 

The Agaphile also visits homes for private chef work, eg one off dinner parties, small business lunches, Christmas cook, freezer food etc from fine dining to family food.

You are booked on the demonstration once the full cost is received.  Fees are non refundable due to the preparation involved & cost of ingredients, although you could send a replacement if you find you cannot make a booking.
